MEXIR GPO was born out of lived experience. Founded by Pedro Barajas Jr., a second-generation Mexican restaurant operator, the vision came from watching his own family navigate pricing fluctuations, vendor comparisons, and the constant pressure of keeping a restaurant alive.

Pedro saw his father spending hours each week shopping between vendors, trying to save pennies just to stay afloat. After attending industry events and learning from seasoned mentors, he discovered the power of contracted purchasing — a strategy national chains have used for decades to cut costs and simplify operations.
Wanting to bring these same advantages to independent restaurants, Pedro began by reaching out to friends and family in the industry. What started as a small circle quickly revealed itself to be a national network — hundreds of Mexican restaurant owners facing the same challenges.
